    The Iowa Wild have announced Matt Hendricks as the team's new general manager.

    The Iowa Wild have announced Matt Hendricks as the team's new general manager.

    The Minnesota Wild have named Matt Hendricks general manager of their American Hockey League franchise in Iowa.

    The move comes after former GM Michael Murray was promoted as one of three new assistant general mangers of the Minnesota club.

    Hendricks, now 42, has spent five seasons with the Wild, where he has served as Assistant Director of Player Development (2019-24). He will now take over duties as the head honcho in Iowa.

    The Blaine, MN. product suited up in 607 NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, Nashville Predators, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, and Wild. He also played in 247 AHL games for the Milwaukee Admirals, Lowell Lock Monsters, Rochester Americans, Hershey Bears, Providence Bruins, and Lake Erie Monsters.

    Hendricks suited up for the Jets in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, where he served an important role on the team's bottom line and in the dressing room. Never won a Stanley Cup or Calder Cup, but made his way to the AHL final in 2007.

    He posted 54 goals, 116 points and 722 penalty minutes in 11 seasons in the show.
