Wagner, a Nykoping, Sweden product, will make $858K at the NHL level should he suit up with the Jets over the next three years.
If playing in the minors for the Manitoba Moose, the 19-year-old will earn $80K annually from the club. Wagner is expected to skate with fellow Jets young guns at the annual Winnipeg Jets Development Camp, set to run from July 4-8 at the Hockey for All Centre.
Drafted 175th overall in the sixth round of last year's draft, Wagner will look to make the transition to North American hockey for 2023-24, following what has been a lifetime of Swedish hockey.
He has played for the Linkoping junior hockey club for the past four seasons, before jumping up to the Swedish Hockey League for part of last season.
The left-shooting forward suited up in 22 games in the SHL last year, after putting up 11 goals and 33 points in 33 U-20 games for Linkoping in the first half of the 2022-23 season.
He has competed internationally for his country on many occasions, as well. Wagner has played for Sweden's U-16, U-18 and U-20 teams, most recently at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, where he scored twice and added four assists for six points in seven games.
Sweden ultimately lost the bronze medal game to his new Jets mates, Chaz Lucius and Rutger McGroarty with Team USA in overtime.
