Tanev will return to Winnipeg where he spent his first three NHL seasons. The 33-year-old is a north-south player who plays aggressively on the forecheck. He's not known for his skill or offensive abilities, but will be a valued addition in the bottom six. He'll help improve the Jets' defensive game and make them more difficult to play against.

This season Tanev has scored nine goals and 17 points while throwing 122 hits and blocking 91 shots.
