The Kingston Frontenacs have officially clinched a playoff spot with a 4-1 win on Sunday afternoon against the Sarnia Sting.

The Kingston Frontenacs have become the seventh team in the Eastern Conference to clinch a playoff spot with their win over the Sarnia Sting on Sunday afternoon. They have improved to a record of 29-30-4 with 62 points on the season. They are still eleven points back of the Ottawa 67's in sixth place.

Jax Dubois helped lead the Frontenacs to their 4-1 win against the Sting, with two goals of his own. Paul Ludwinski and Tyler Hopkins scored the other two goals, while Mason Vaccari only faced 17 shots in the crease.

This win came on the road, as the Sarnia Sting are still on the outside looking in on the playoffs.

Kingston has had a much better season than expected — even though they do not have a winning record. They were originally projected to be a rebuilding team for another season, but have snuck themselves into a playoff spot where they may be able to do some damage.

Captain Paul Ludwinski has led the way offensively with 62 points in 55 games this season along with his leadership abilities. Ludwinski is the definition of a complete, team-oriented centreman. He is responsible on both ends of the ice, strong in the faceoff dot, and he can drive play offensively.

Ludwinski has been especially dominant since getting cut from Canada's World Junior team, after being invited to their Selection Camp.

Further down the lineup, NHL Draft eligible winger Jacob Battaglia, Sabres prospect Ethan Miedema, and Matthew Soto have been holding their own production-wise.

Though their depth isn't outstanding, Kingston has their stars spread out throughout their lineup.

Mason Vaccari has also been outstanding in net this season, as he has been in past years.

If the playoffs were to start today, the Kingston Frontenacs would play the Oshawa Generals. This would certainly be a challenge for the Frontenacs, but as we have seen in recent years, teams can change drastically from regular season to playoffs.
