The Kings signed their first-round pick to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Windsor Spitfires forward Liam Greentree signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings worth and average annual value of $975,000.
The Kings selected Greentree 26th overall with their first-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft in Vegas.
At 6-foot-2, Greentree is a highly skilled playmaker and power forward that Windsor employed in all situations last year. He is a cerebral player who sees the ice incredibly well. On the rush, he often uses his speed and playmaking ability to set up teammates while driving through defenders.
Prior to being drafted, Greentree played two seasons for Windsor in the OHL. He was named to the OHL all-rookie team after scoring 25 goals and adding 20 assists during the 2022-23 campaign.
Last season, he doubled his points scoring 36 goals and 54 assists for a total of 90 points. He finished the season tied for eleventh in OHL scoring and was named captain of the team part way through the year. He was the only player in the top 20 to finish with a negative plus/minus at -14.
He managed to put up these staggering numbers despite the fact that Windsor struggled to find wins last season. The team finished last in the Western Conference registering only 18 wins.
Internationally, Greentree has won a pair of gold medals playing for Canada. He played in three games and recorded one assist for Canada at the 2023-24 Hlinka Gretzky Cup where the team won a gold medal.
He then represented Canada at the 2023-24 U-18 World Junior Championship where the team once again took home a gold medal. Greentree scored two goals and added a pair of assists for a total of four points in seven games.

LA is a very interesting team with a combination of aging veterans and up and coming stars. Notably, the team did not have a single player who scored a point per game last season. Greentree's scoring ability could therefore make an intriguing addition to the Kings in a few years.
Greentree is eligible to return to Windsor next year to continue as the captain of the Spitfires. The team made some exciting acquisitions in the offseason including Washington draft pick Ilya Protas and first overall OHL Priority Selection Ethan Belchetz.
LA fans should keep an eye on Greentree during the season as it seems likely he will be able to put up another impressive statistical year.
