Enjoy the summer vacations, cottage, and camping trips, hockey season will soon be back before you know it. On Monday afternoon, the OHL released its 2025 pre-season schedule. The games start back up on Aug. 29 with the Oshawa Generals [https://chl.ca/ohl-generals/] taking on the Saginaw Spirit [https://chl.ca/ohl-spirit/] at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. The Kitchener Rangers play host once again to another pre-season Labor Day weekend showcase at the “Aud.” Oshawa, Saginaw, and the Brantford Bulldogs [https://chl.ca/ohl-bulldogs/] are the other three teams taking part in the showcase. The 2025-26 pre-season schedule consists of 50 games, running until Sept. 14. The OHL’s regular season starts up four days later on Sept. 18. On Sept. 3, the Sudbury Wolves [https://chl.ca/ohl-wolves/] will host the QMJHL’s [https://thehockeynews.com/qmjhl] Rouyn-Noranda Huskie [https://chl.ca/lhjmq-huskies/]s in Timmins, Ontario. Last month, the OHL and QMJHL announced they will have inter-league games between the two leagues, consisting of four games. The QMJHL’s Gatineau Olympiques [https://chl.ca/lhjmq-olympiques/] will face off against the Ottawa 67’s [https://chl.ca/ohl-67s/], while Rouyn-Noranda will take on Sudbury. It marks the first time since 2022-23 that there will be inter-league matches between the two leagues.
