- Matthew Phillips appears poised to make the Washington Capitals roster. Phillips, one of the best forwards in the AHL over the last few years, has recorded three points in three pre-season contests.

- A few AHL players were claimed off waivers, including Ty Emberson, Lassi Thomson, Samuel Fagemo and Jansen Harkins.

The Pittsburgh Penguins claimed one of the top players in the AHL last year in Jansen Harkins, says Jacob Stoller.

- Some notable names were not claimed off waivers as well. The guys dive into why Jack Rathbone, Egor Sokolov, Jacob Bernard-Docker and Ty Smith were not claimed.
