PWHL New York is on the league's longest losing streak of the season as PWHL Minnesota handed New York their sixth straight loss in a 5-1 decision Saturday afternoon.

In the opening period, Minnesota jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Michela Cava and Grace Zumwinkle, while outshooting New York 13-5.

The second period continued to be a lopsided affair with Claire Butorac notching her first of the season to give Minnesota a 3-0 lead. Nearing the end of the frame, Abby Roque scored on the powerplay to give New York their only goal of the game.

The third was all Minnesota again with Cava recording her second goal of the game and Kendall Coyne Schofield capping off the offense.

Brodt Records Assist In Return

Sydney Brodt suffered a serious lower body injury in early December at the PWHL preseason in Utica, New York. She was placed on LTIR prior to the season, and was removed this weekend in time for today's game. In her first game in the PWHL, Brodt recorded an assist for Minnesota playing 6:13.

New York's Struggles Continue

Being outshot 40-21 in the game, New York was incapable of putting much together in this game. Minnesota controlled the play and piece by piece dismantled New York and netminder Corinne Schroeder who has been New York's backbone this season. New York continues to heavily rely upon their top line without results, leaving many members of their lineup on the bench for no apparent reason. The tone on New York's bench between coaches and players is heated, and it's believed their locker room is rumored to be among the least cohesive in the league. New York has the highest time on ice average of three forwards among any team in the league, and the most players among the bottom 20 in the PWHL in ice time. New York continues to send the same lines and match ups with the same results, which right now is losing.
