The Calgary Flames have announced that they have decided to withdraw winger Matt Coronato from Team USA for the upcoming World Championships.

This is as a result of MRI results that Coronato underwent on an undisclosed injury, which clearly spooked Calgary.

The Flames are calling this withdrawal a "preventative decision."

The 22-year-old played his first full season, scoring 24 goals and 47 points in 77 games. He will be looking to build upon that next season.
