The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced the signing of Finnish forward Oiva Keskinen to an entry-level contract.
Keskinen, 21, was a seventh-round pick by the Blue Jackets in the 2023 NHL Draft. Since then, he’s spent the past two seasons playing for Tappara in Finland’s top league, Liiga.
Over that span, he’s put up 22 goals and 40 assists for 62 points. In the playoffs, he added another 10 points in 25 games, helping Tappara win the Liiga Championship this past season.
He was also a finalist for the Wasama Award (Liiga’s Rookie of the Year) in 2024, finishing second among rookies in assists and fourth in total points.
Keskinen is expected to come over to North America for training camp in 2025-26 and will likely start the season with the Cleveland Monsters in the AHL.
