The Calgary Flames are keeping some of their edge intact — officially re-signing forward Martin Pospisil to a three-year contract extension worth $2.5 million per season.

The 25-year-old from Zvolen, Slovakia has quickly carved out a role as one of Calgary’s most physical and reliable wingers since making his NHL debut in late 2023. This past season, Pospisil suited up in 81 games and hit career highs across the board — finishing with 25 points (four goals, 21 assists), 84 penalty minutes, and a team-leading 295 hits.

A fourth-round pick by the Flames back in 2018 (105th overall), Pospisil has shown steady growth and is now being rewarded with term and security. His intensity, grit, and emerging two-way game make him a perfect fit for the identity the Flames are building.

At 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Pospisil brings size, bite, and consistency — and with this new deal, he’ll be bringing it in Flames colours for at least three more seasons.
