The Carolina Hurricanes fell 5-1 to the Boston Bruins Saturday night at TD Gardens as Jeremy Swayman and David Pastrnak teamed up to torment the Canes.

After the game, Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour along with Sebastian Aho and Justin Robidas spoke with the media in Boston. Here's what they had to say:

Rod Brind'Amour

On the game: It was not a bad start and then a couple of goals right at the end of the first period kind of set us back and then we just couldn't get going as far as catching up. Then they get another weird one where you're like, 'Eh, that shouldn't go in' and now we're chasing the game. We put up a lot of offense, but when you're behind like that, it's just tough. Their goalie played really well too. You have to give him credit.

On what the team needed to do differently: Score a couple goals. Not much else we can do. I mean, we were creating the offense, we just needed a breakthrough and we weren't able to do that.

On Justin Robidas scoring his first career NHL goal: It's tough that his first goal, you're happy for him and he did a nice job, but I hated that it's in a game like that where it's not all that impactful. But certainly he did a great job when he came up. Happy for him.

On Jesperi Kotkaniemi's status: Yeah, I don't know. I guess we'll know more tomorrow. He tweaked something there. We'll find out more when he gets looked at tomorrow.

Sebastian Aho

On the game: Wasn't a good game. Obviously they were a lot better than us. First 10-15 minutes were okay and then we kind of fell apart.

On what he felt needed to be different: Pretty much everything. Not a good game. It was a tough two games, but yeah. I guess there's no excuses for playing like that. Just need to trash these two games and come with a better mentality for whatever the next game is.

On creating consistency down the stretch: Just need to keep working on our game. You can tell that in the last two games we haven't played our game right and it hasn't been pretty. We just have to play how we know and how we want and that will give us the best chance to win.

On Justin Robidas scoring his first NHL goal: It's awesome. He played great. Kind of sucks to see the rest of the team to play like that when he's playing his first two games. Obviously a well deserved goal there. It's awesome to see.

Justin Robidas

On scoring his first career NHL goal: It's pretty cool. Obviously a goal that I'll remember forever. It's hard to get that at the end of a loss like that, but still it's pretty memorable for me.

On his goal: I think it was Scotty that shot it and I kind of batted it out of mid-air off of the rebound. Just tired to shoot it as quickly as I could.

On the team support: Everyone's been supporting me since the day I got here, so it's a really special group and I'm very grateful to have their support.

On what these few days have been like for him: It's fun to contribute offensively, it's just unfortunate that it came in a loss like that. But it's for sure something that I'll remember. It was a pretty big weekend for myself, my family and everyone that's supported me. Definitely very special.

On the development at the AHL level: I think we've been working hard down there and Cam [Abbott] has done a very good job of helping us develop. With the development staff here too, it's just been great since the beginning of the year. We've just been working hard and I guess it's paying off.
