The USHL announced its eighth Players of the Week on Monday as Fargo forward Jordan Ronn, Green Bay defenseman Lukas Peterson and Green Bay goaltender Gavin Moffatt took home the respective honors for Week 8.
Ronn is the third Fargo player to earn a POTW honor this season, joining goaltender Alan Lendak (Week 6) and defenseman Sam Laurila, who was named the USHL Defenseman of the Week last Monday.
Ronn, who the Force acquired from Sioux City in September, scored twice and was a plus-3 on Friday as Fargo earned a 5-1 win in Lincoln. The Minnesota State commit followed it up with another two points (1-1-2) on Saturday and was a plus-1 as Fargo suffered a 4-2 loss.
The four-point weekend gives Ronn 9-2-11 this season and eight of those nine goals have come on the road. He was also a plus-4 and is now a plus-9 through 15 games.
Ronn is joined by a pair of Gamblers as Green Bay swept Dubuque.
Peterson led all USHL defensemen with four points as he scored the game-winning goal on Friday and racked up three assists on the weekend road trip, all of which came on the power play.
The Maine commit is 14 games into his second USHL season and has nearly half his 2023-24 point total. Peterson finished last season with 1-13-14 over 41 games and currently sits at 1-5-6. He also has points in three of his last four games.
Moffatt did his job between the pipes too, stopping 50 of the 53 shots the Fighting Saints fired his way. Green Bay earned a 2-1 win on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday.
Moffatt made 29 of those saves on Friday and 21 on Saturday, giving himself a 6-6-0 record, .924 save percentage and 2.11 GAA. Moffatt’s .924 save percentage is currently tied with Dubuque’s Jan Spunar for the USHL lead and his 2.11 GAA ranks second.
It’s the second weekly honor of the season – Week 3 being the other – for Moffatt, who remains uncommitted. He also did so once last season (Week 25).
Green Bay (7-6-1) has won three straight and currently sits fourth in the Eastern Conference with 15 points.
