Monday night’s game will conclude a stretch of three games in four days for the Stars, following a 6-4 victory over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. It was the team’s fourth consecutive win and 40th of the season, marking just the fifth time it has achieved at least 40 wins in a season and the first time reaching that number in the last 23 years.

Daniel Shlaine broke a 4-4 deadlock with 1:19 remaining by scoring the game-winning goal. Hunter Anderson set him up from the far corner for a one-timer from one knee at the near dot to give the Stars their third and final lead of the night.

The Stars (40-13-1-0) are four wins away from setting a new franchise single-season record with eight games left in the campaign.

Lincoln leads the USHL in goals scored with 245 this season, putting them just two away from breaking their franchise single-season record set back in 2000-01. That mark was achieved in 56 games, and the Stars are playing game number 55 on Monday.

The Stars have scored five or more goals in a game 26 times in 2024-25, marking the ninth time they have eclipsed 20 times in a season.

Monday’s matchup is the seventh this season between the Stars and Force, with the two teams splitting the previous six contests 3-3. Lincoln is looking to win a season series against Fargo for the first time since 2017-18, when they went 3-1.

The Stars won five of the eight games against Fargo during the 2023-24 regular season. The Force got the last laugh, however, taking out Lincoln in four games in the Western Conference Finals to finish the campaign 6-6 against them.

With eight games left in the regular season, the Stars have already clinched a playoff berth. Their games have remained competitive, though, with four of the last six decided by one goal.

Fargo (25-22-4-2) currently sits fifth in the Western Conference. If the season ended Monday, the Force would face the Sioux City Musketeers on the road in the first round of the playoffs. Their magic number to clinch a Clark Cup Playoff spot heading into Monday is five.

Puck drop for the St. Patty’s Day contest is set for 7:05 Pm CT.
