The Fargo Force kept their postseason hopes alive in Game 4 of the Clark Cup Western Conference Finals on Friday night. Goaltender Hampton Slukynsky stopped all 20 shots on goal, while five different skaters found the back of the net in the 5-0 win over Sioux City.
The Force and Musketeers are headed to a decisive Game 5 matchup on Sunday, with the winner advancing to the Clark Cup Finals to face the Eastern Conference-champion Dubuque Fighting Saints.
A fairly even first period saw Fargo open the scoring on Tom Leppa's first goal of the postseason after his shot from the right-wing circle went five-hole on Sioux City netminder Samuel Urban. Reid Daavettila doubled up the Force's lead early in the second period on a one-timer from the low slot.
Fargo scored three times in the third period to put the game out of reach.
Jake Fisher found the back of the net for the third time this postseason. Brandon Svoboda followed less than two minutes later. As did Michael Neumeier just past the midway point of the frame.
The series now shifts back to Scheels Arena for a decisive Game 5 on Sunday.
