The club ended a nearly month-long slump with a decimation of the Calgary Flames last night.

After going 22 days without a regulation win, the Utah Hockey Club picked the perfect time to bust out of its shell with a 5-1 pounding of the Calgary Flames last night at Delta Center.

The sold-out crowd finally got to celebrate a home win for the first time since the memorable opening night against Chicago, but it more importantly boosted Utah back into playoff position after one month of the season.

It was a day that also began with general manager Bill Armstrong warning the fans that more moves to improve the club were coming, and that the trade for short-term rental defenceman Olli Maatta was just the start.

Now, the club turns its attention to the Vegas Golden Knights, the team's new rival down the I-15, for their first-ever regular season clash at T-Mobile Arena Saturday on the Strip.

They start with practice this morning at 11:30 a.m. at the Olympic Oval before the team's travel day to Las Vegas tomorrow.
