The Canucks really struggled to produce scoring chances against the Ducks. At even-strength, they gave up 19 scoring chances compared to generating 15 and lost the high-danger scoring chances battle 10-5. Vancouver also struggled to produce on the power play, recording only one high-danger scoring chance during their four minutes with the man advantage.

The biggest takeaway from the heatmap is that Artūrs Šilovs continues to struggle with shots from distance. He allowed two low-danger shots and gave up five rebounds, which led to second-chance opportunities. Overall, it was a difficult game for Šilovs, who allowed four goals despite finishing with an expected goals against of 2.25.

As for the Canucks best forward line, that would be the trio of Dakota Joshua, Filip Chytil and Conor Garland. They finished with an xGF% of 71.13 and were able to generate two scoring chances during their 6:10 together. This line was also Vancouver's best on Wednesday against the L.A. Kings and has the potential to be a productive trio in the future.

To wrap things up, Pius Suter also had an efficient game for the Canucks. He scored a goal and held a 5-3 scoring chances advantage during his 12:31 of even-strength play. Suter was also a key member of the penalty kill, with Vancouver allowing only one shot against during his 2:21 of shorthanded ice time.
