More than halfway through the season, teams have a better idea of how good they are and where they'll likely end up in the standings. That affects their strategy leading up to the NHL trade deadline.

The Calgary Flames sit four points out of a playoff spot, the Ottawa Senators are stuck at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, and the San Jose Sharks are last overall as they continue to rebuild. As such, there's been lots of trade speculation for each of these clubs.
