Seth Jarvis Named To Olympic Team

Canada announced on Thursday that it has replaced former Moose Jaw Warriors forward Brayden Point on its Olympic men’s hockey roster with Portland Winterhawks alum, Seth Jarvis.

Jarvis represented Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off, where he had one assist in three games. This will be the third time in his career that he’s represented Canada, also doing so for the Canada Red U17 team at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in 2018-19.

A rare combination of elite skill and high-character play defined Jarvis’ time in the Rose City. In the 2019-20 season, Jarvis exploded for 42 goals and 56 assists for 98 points in just 58 games, finishing second in the WHL scoring race.

His performance earned him the Brad Hornung Trophy as the WHL’s Most Sportsmanlike Player and a spot on the WHL West First All-Star Team. Whether it was his 11-game point streak in February 2020 or his ability to weave through defences at top speed, Jarvis embodied the style of play that NHL scouts covet.  Jarvis was selected 13th overall by Carolina in 2020, and his career has seen him record 256 points in 352 NHL games to date.  

Jarvis joins fellow Manitobans and WHL alumni Mark Stone and Travis Sanheim on a Canadian roster looking to return to the top of the podium.
