This coming weekend, Plymouth, Michigan, will host the World Junior Summer Showcase, featuring thrilling matchups between the junior national teams of Canada, USA, Finland, and Sweden.

This event offers a glimpse of future stars and intense international competition that should help feed your starved hockey appetite halfway through the summer.

Winnipeg Jets fans can look out for 2023 first round pick, Colby Barlow as he will be representing Team Canada.

The 19-year-old Orillia native, will be in elite company on Team Canada with 17 other first round picks on the roster, including Easton Cowan, Cayden Lindstrom, Tij Iginla and Zayne Parekh. Owen Sound was swept in the first round of the OHL playoffs and may lead people to forget such a stellar regular season from Barlow. He finished with his second 40-goal campaign while adding 18 assists for 58 points in 50 regular season games.

His OHL numbers have always been fabulous with 116 goals and 68 assists for 184 points in 168 games across four seasons. He is slated to play with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL next season and will look to translate his numbers to minor-pro.
