Carter Brooks Winnipeg Jets Postgame Report

The Winnipeg Jets take on the Anaheim Ducks in their first game of 2025.

The Jets' 2024 season ended poorly, as they lost to the Colorado Avalanche 5-2, but overall, no one was better in 2024 than the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets led the NHL in regular-season wins with 57, points with 117, and goals against per game with 2.41.

The Jets and Ducks are meeting for the second time this season, and the Jets are looking for revenge. The Ducks came out on the winning end in their last matchup 3-2, thanks to Frank Vatrano's two goals and Troy Terry's late winner.

The Ducks are a very young team but come into tonight's game feeling good about themselves after beating two of the NHL's best teams, the Edmonton Oilers and the New Jersey Devils.

Connor Hellebuyck recorded a shutout in his last outing, and he's running away in the Vezina Trophy race. He's leading all goaltenders in all the key goaltender statistics, and his advanced stats back up his dominance.

With Mason Appleton expected to miss some time due to a lower-body injury, the fourth line, consisting of Morgan Barron, David Gustaffson, and Rasmus Kupari, will stay together after their impressive showing against the Avalanche.

Puck drop is at 7:00 P.M. CST at the Canadian Life Centre.
