This is what you might call a dynasty, a tough one.

ECDC Memmingen has won its seventh German championship title, its fourth in a row. The Indians defeated Eisbären Juniors Berlin in the final, with two victories, 6-1 and 3-0, in Berlin. On Saturday, Memmingen sealed the deal with a 4-2 win.

The final game was played on Saturday in front of 2,679 spectators at the ALPHA COOLING-Arena in the Hühnerberg district of Memmingen.

Eight players from the Memmingen team competed in the Milan-Cortina Olympics for Germany: Chiara Schultes, Ronja Hark, Charlott Schaffrath, Carina Strobel, Anne Bartsch, Nicola Hadraschek-Eisenschmid, Jule Schiefer, and captain Daria Gleissner.

Schultes was outstanding in goal for the Indians, allowing only 5 goals in 6 playoff games. Hark was named playoff MVP. American Theresa Knutson, a University of Connecticut alumna, led all scorers with 34 points, including 19 goals, in 24 games.

The German Women's Elite League (DFEL) featured five teams this season: ECDC Memmingen, Eisbären Juniors Berlin, EKU Mannheim, ERC Ingolstadt, and one Hungarian team, HK Budapest.
