Kennedy Marchment renegotiated the second year of her contract with the PHF's Connecticut Whale, signing for $130,000 this season.

Kennedy Marchment and the Connecticut Whale have reached new terms for the second season of the two-year contract she signed last offseason with the team.
The renegotiated contract is worth $130,000 for next season, an adjustment made after the league announced a new $1.5 million salary cap for the coming season.
Marchment led the Whale in scoring last season with 35 points in 24 games, he second consecutive 30+ point season.
“Kennedy is tremendous for us both on and off the ice,” said Whale GM Alexis Moed in a news release.
“We have seen her maintain her scoring dominance and she continues to grow as a leader in the locker room. She makes players around her better and her ability to read plays, set up offensive opportunities, and finish on a rush is amazing. She plays with composure and ease, truly a big asset for the Whale.”
Marchment won the PHF's MVP honor in 2021-2022 after returning from the SDHL where she spent three seasons following her NCAA career with St. Lawrence.
Last season, Marchment set a new PHF record for the longest point streak in league history, recording a point in 18 consecutive games. In only two seasons, Marchment is already the Whale's all-time points and goals leader.
“I am really excited to be back with the Whale for another season,” said Marchment in the team's news release.
“We have built a very strong culture and I am grateful to have the opportunity to continue to be a part of that. Our goal is the same every year and that’s to win so continuing to strive towards that is extremely exciting to me!”
According to the Connecticut Whale's press release, the team currently has six players signed for the 2023-24 season including Marchment, Kacey Bellamy, Taylor Girard, Melissa Samoskevich, Allie Munroe, and Tori Howran.
