NCAA star Gabrielle David has signed with the PHF's Boston Pride, marking the team's third major NCAA signing.
The Boston Pride have landed yet another NCAA standout signing Clarkson's Gabrielle David. David and the Pride agreed to terms on a one-year contract.
In her senior season at Clarkson, David scored 21 goals 52 points in 42 games for the Golden Knights, good for 10th in the NCAA. Her efforts earned her Third Team All-ECAC honors this year.
“I am extremely excited to join the prestigious Boston Pride women's hockey team and organization for the upcoming season," David said in a team news release. "The league and team have experienced tremendous growth, presenting a golden opportunity for women's hockey. It is truly a dream come true to have the chance to play professionally with some of the world's best players, and I would like to express my gratitude to my parents and everyone who supported and believed in me throughout my journey.“
David is a former member of Canada's U-18 national team, and was invited to Canada's senior national team selection camps this past summer, participating in the summer showcase, and playing for Canada's Collegiate Series team.
“Gabrielle is an elite player in every aspect of the game. Her skating skills, scoring prowess, and ability to make plays will be a tremendous asset for the Pride next season.” said Pride head coach Paul Mara. “She has been a prominent top player in the NCAA, and we expect nothing more for her than to continue that way and get even better at the professional level.”
Hailing from Drummondville, Quebec, the 23-year-old leaves Clarkson in the top ten all time in program scoring.
Earlier this offseason, the Pride signed Northeastern stars Alina Müller and Chloe Aurard to contracts.
