
The Metropolitan Riveters have signed NCAA grade Lexie Adzija who captained Quinnipiac University.

Quinnipiac University captain Lexie Adzija has signed her first professional contract inking with the PHF's Metropolitan Riveters. Adzija signed a one-year $60,000 contract with the Riveters.
Adzija spent five seasons with the Quinnipiac Bobcats, last season scoring 11 goals and 16 points in 26 games.
“We're excited to add Lexie to the Riveters,” said Riveters head coach Venla Hovi in a team news release. “She is a strong and determined young athlete who wants to go far in hockey. She is hard to handle around the net and she is always looking to find the back of the net. Lexie is hardworking and disciplined and she will thrive having experienced players around her.”
The St. Thomas, Ontario product was invited to Canada's national team selection camp last summer, after representing Team Canada at the 2018 U-18 World Championships. She also played for Canada's Collegiate Series team.
Adzidja is a two-way forward who thrives in her own zone killing penalties and as a shot blocker.
“I am so excited to be joining the Riveters organization,” said Adzija. “The fact that I am able to continue my hockey career at such a high level and play professionally is thrilling. I wanted to be a part of an organization that is leading growth and change in women's professional hockey, and that's what the Riveters are accomplishing."

Prior to Quinnipiac Adzija won a pair of national championships representing Team Ontario.
