Emma Seitz, the back-to-back ECAC Defender of the Year and All-American with Yale University has signed a one-year $72,500 contract with the PHF's Metropolitan Riveters.

“Emma had a tremendously successful college career at Yale,” said Riveters head coach Venla Hovi in a team press release. “She is a modern defender who joins rushes without hesitation, therefore will provide us with an extra layer of offense. She is creative and has great instincts. We are looking forward to having her on board.”

Seitz, 23, had 22 points in 30 games for the Yale Bulldogs this season. She's the second Yale star to sign in the league after teammate Claire Dalton signed with the Toronto Six earlier this offseason.

“I am very excited to begin my professional ice hockey career with the Riveters,” said Seitz. “I was raised in Manhattan, and never imagined that I would have the opportunity to come home to play a sport that I love so much. I am impressed with the Riveters organization and coaching staff, and I feel that I can be an important piece to building a championship team.”

“The PHF not only provides a platform for me to compete against top women's ice hockey players from all over the world, but is paying me a living wage to do so,” she said. “I look forward to growing alongside the PHF both as a person and as an athlete.”

Seitz joins a growing group of Metropolitan Riveters newcomers including Noora Räty, Susanna Tapani, Kaleigh Fratkin, Olivia Zufato, McKenna Brand, and Lexie Adzija who have signed to bolster the roster this season.
