A new amalgamated league is likely to emerge following the acquisition of the PHF by Mark Walter co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and BJK Enterprises, who had been working with the PWHPA.
One league will soon be a reality in women's hockey according to sources.
After years of separation, it looks as though a single professional women's hockey league is about to emerge.
According to sources, the PHF will be acquired by Mark Walter, who is a part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chelsea FC and Billie Jean King Enterprises.
As sources tell The Hockey News, Walter has been seeking out new partnerships and investors since early spring, following a year of working with the PWHPA and Billie Jean King Enterprises to launch a professional women's hockey league from the PWHPA.
The acquisition of the PHF will form the foundation for a professional women's hockey league that will also include current members of the PWHPA and expansion cities.
More to come.
