Madison Bizal, a standout defender for the Ohio State Buckeyes has signed a two-year contract with the PHF's Minnesota Whitecaps.
After five seasons with Ohio State, including winning a national championship, NCAA standout Madison Bizal has signed a two-year contract with the PHF's Minnesota Whitecaps.
“It is truly an honor to start my professional hockey career in Minnesota,” Bizal said in a press release. “I grew up in Minnesota and played hockey here most of my life, except college, and am really proud of that. I am so excited to be back in Minnesota to play in front of my home state's crowd and represent them on the pro level.”
A former gold medalist with the USA's U-18 national team, Bizal scored 19 points in 41 games from the Ohio State blueline this season.
“I love how confident she is and her ability to find the lanes to the net," said Minnesota general manager Chi-Yin Tse. "Biz was tough and physical in front of her own net - and she regularly blocked shots. She is a true competitor and will sacrifice for her teammates."
“She sacrifices and will give everything for her teammates,” Tse said. “Biz is an elite shot blocking machine on one side of the ice, but then an elite offensive-minded blue liner on the other end. She transitions fast and makes great first passes out of the zone. Biz will be a threat every time she steps on the ice - nobody beats the Biz.”
Bizal is the 16th player signing announced by the Minnesota Whitecaps this offseason.
Bizal is an Elk River, Minnesota product.
