The Toronto Sceptres won their third straight and pulled within two points of second place in the PWHL standings Friday night beating the Boston Fleet 3-1 at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Emma Maltais opened the scoring four minutes into the game on a goal that required a review. Maltais put the puck through Boston's Aerin Frankel, but the puck did not cross the line prior to the whistle. The on-ice signal however, was a good goal, which stood after a review.

Megan Keller tied the game early in the second period. After a hard forecheck from Theresa Schafzahl resulted in a turnover, a quick passing sequence from Jamie Lee Rattray to Hannah Brandt, to a streaking Megan Keller set up the Fleet defender for her fifth of the season.

In the last minute of the second period however, Sceptres forward Izzy Daniel stripped a Fleet defender of the puck in the corner and found a wide open Emma Woods standing net front. Woods made no mistake scoring her third of the year.

“Obviously a great pass from Izzy [Daniel]," said Woods following the game. "We want to get on the forecheck – we continued to talk about that during the game – we did that. It was a clean breakout, Izzy passed it across and had patience–– that got us going. And then [Daniel] on the forecheck, and somehow I ended up alone in the slot. Glad I buried it.”

Jesse Compher added insurance on the power play with 2:29 remaining in the game, and Kristen Campbell made 16 saves to secure the win. It was Campbell's first start in two weeks after Raygan Kirk played and won Toronto's last two games, and Campbell was not selected for the Rivalry Series.
