Watching game tape of Thunstrom, her ability to close gaps rapidly using that speed often forces turnovers, including on the penalty kill, and when her teammates find the puck, they can spring Thunstrom into the open directly, or by putting the puck to open ice and allowing her to utilize her skating to win races. The veteran never shies away from going to the net and creating traffic in tight either. She has consistently produced across her career utilizing her various skill sets both in tight and off the rush.
