The PWHL handed out the longest suspension in PWHL history today issuing a four-game suspension to New York Sirens forward Taylor Girard. Girard was suspended for leaving the bench to join a scuffle at the end of Sunday's PWHL Takeover Tour game in Washington, D.C. According to the PWHL Player Safety Committee, "Per Rule 72.10 of the PWHL Rulebook, the first player to leave the players’ bench illegally during an altercation or for the purpose of starting an altercation from either or both Teams shall be suspended automatically for the next four (4) regular season games." Girard will not play for more than 40 days as her suspension will span through the Olympic break that begins following the league's games on January 28, 2026.
