Three of five NCAA women's hockey conference titles were decided by one goal, but the Quinnipiac Bobcats put a stamp on their 2026 ECAC play beating Yale 5-1 to win the ECAC championship and punch their ticket to the NCAA tournament. Netminder Felicia Frank, who is one of three national finalists for NCAA Goaltender of the Year [https://thehockeynews.com/womens/college/frank-gascon-chan-named-ncaa-goaltender-of-the-year-finalists] made 31 saves in the win and was named ECAC Tournament MVP. Taking a long stretch pass from Makayla Watson, Ella Johnson opened the scoring for the Quinnipiac Bobcats going glove side on a breakaway beating Samson Frey. Avery Bairos gave Quinnipiac a 2-0 lead in the second period, and early in the third senior defender Zoe Uens buried a one-timer from the right circle to extend Quinnipiac's lead to 3-0. Mariya Rauf would respond for Yale, but it was too little too late. With time winding down Yale pulled their goaltender for the extra attacker. Ella Johnson found the empty net for her second of the game, and Emerson Jarvis also scored with the net empty to finish off Quinnipiac's 5-1 win. It was Quinnipiac's first ECAC title since 2016.
