Sarah Paul missed more than a season with injury, but now she's back thriving in both the NCAA with Princeton, and pursuing goals of making Team Canada and the PWHL. Sarah Paul has opened many eyes with Canada's national development team. The hockey world knew Paul was skilled, but few have been able to see her play regularly over the last five seasons. Last year was Paul's first full campaign in that span, and despite many players from the 2003 age group getting ready to enter the 2025 PWHL Draft, Paul has years ahead of her as the 2023-2024 season was also her first full NCAA campaign. After playing seven games as a rookie in 2021-2022 with Princeton, where she got off to a red hot start scoring five points in seven games before suffering a season ending injury. That injury kept Paul out through the entirety of the 2022-2023 season as well. Now she's back, and not only coming off a stellar campaign at Princeton scoring 16 goals and 23 points in 32 games, but she's making her case for another step up the ladder with Hockey Canada. "It's a whole lot of fun," Paul said of being back in a Team Canada jersey. "It was a tough time being injured, but just being back doing what I love, being around great people, it doesn't get better than that, it's a lot of fun." Paul isn't new to Hockey Canada's program. She was invited to be part of Canada's national team during her injury, but could not participate. She also won silver with Canada's U-18 national team in 2020. While Team Canada is a goal, Paul has also been watching the success of the PWHL, and is excited for the possibility of the league in her future. "We're all really excited, it's a wonderful opportunity," Paul said. Getting paid to do what we love no mattern how much it is just sounds like a dream. it's a privilege that not a lot of people have getting to do what we love for work." Paul is set to return to Princeton for her second full season of NCAA hockey in 2024-2025.
