Despite being brought up in trade speculation, Dante Fabbro signed a one-year contract extension with the Nashville Predators.

The Nashville Predators have signed Dante Fabbro to a one-year, $2,500,000 contract extension.
Fabbro will be an RFA after his deal expires at the end of the 2023-24 season.
The 24-year-old right-shot defenseman has recorded one goal and eight points in 56 games this season, a drastic drop in production from last season when he notched 24 points in 66 games. There was some speculation this week that Fabbro was being shopped by Nashville, with teams such as the San Jose Sharks linked to the 17th overall pick in the 2016 draft.
It’s a little perplexing that Fabbro wasn’t dealt, especially with GM David Poile alluding to them becoming sellers. Granted, Fabbro could still be dealt in this off-season, though he has a long way to go to prove to the rest of the league he’s worth that kind of coin.
The Predators also extended backup goaltender Kevin Lankinen to a one-year $2-million contract. Lankinen has posted a .922 save percentage in 14 games this year.
Nashville is currently six points out of the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference, with two games in hand on the Winnipeg Jets in that spot.
