
Highly touted defensive prospect Olen Zellweger earned his first point in his very first NHL game on Tuesday.

Twenty-year-old blueline prospect Olen Zellweger has officially cracked the National Hockey League.
The Calgary, Alberta native, a second-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in 2021, suited up against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night.
Zellweger found himself on the first power play unit, contributing to a Sam Carrick marker at 3:37 of the second period. The assist marked his first NHL point in his very first game, in which he suited up for 13:42 of ice time, adding two shots, one hit and three blocks.
The left-shot defenseman, who put up 32 goals and 80 points in his final season of junior between the Kamloops Blazers and Everett Silvertips, has been steady for the AHL's San Diego Gulls. In 34 AHL games, Zellweger has eight goals and 25 points.
Zellweger is the latest AHL export to make his NHL debut. In the past ten days Brendan Brisson, Kyle MacLean and Adam Klapka have all made big-club debuts.
