Don't look now, but the Edmonton Oilers are back.
The Oilers won their seventh straight game on Sunday, overpowering the slumping Devils 4-1, with fire-power from Connor McDavid and the usual suspects.
In his first start since November 22nd, Calvin Pickard was rock solid in the win, stopping 26 of 27 shots. Only Jesper Bratt's second-period marker got past the 31-year-old.
The Moncton, New Brunswick native, a second-round draft pick from the Colorado Avalanche in 2010, moved to a 2.24 GAA and .918 SP in his third game since being swapped with Jack Campbell on November 8th.
Pickard, a veteran of the Avs, Maple Leafs, Flyers, Coyotes, Red Wings and multiple AHL clubs, was rock solid in four appearances for Bakersfield this season.
Pickard alternated wins and losses while putting up a respectable 2.02 GAA and .939 SP. His performance on Sunday could see him continue an NHL backup role to Stuart Skinner while Jack Campbell continues to hone his game with the Condors.
