
It was a wild night across the National Hockey League, with four players making their NHL debuts on Tuesday.
Most notably Josh Doan suited up for his home-state Arizona Coyotes, potting two goals before his family and friends as the Yotes moved past the Blue Jackets 6-2.
Doan potted his first goal in his first game at 16:33 of the second period to put Arizona ahead 2-1. He'd open the scoring in the third at 11:32 for his second goal of the evening. The second generation star logged 13:14 of ice-time, added six shots, one hit and finished with a plus-two.
In his first full season in the AHL, Doan leads all rookies with 26 goals, adding 20 assists for 46 points in 62 games for the Tucson Roadunners.
Elsewhere, fifth round draft pick for the Blue Jackets James Malatesta suited up for Columbus in the loss to Arizona, registering 11:43 of ice-time and finishing with eight hits and one blocked shot. The winger has 12 goals and 21 points in 53 games with the Cleveland Monsters.
Twenty-one-year-old center Logan Morrison made his NHL debut with the Seattle Kraken in a 4-0 shutout of the Anaheim Ducks. The undrafted Ontario native registered three shots, one hit and one block through 14:21 of ice-time. He has 15 goals and 40 points in 60 games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Finally, six-foot-three blueliner Brandon Scanlin made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers. Scanlin registered one hit through 10:46 of ice-time in the wild 6-5 Rangers OT victory over the Flyers. The University of Nebraska-Omaha alumni has 16 points in 57 games with the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack this season.
