Teams are running hot and cold as we approach playoff-season.

We're weeks away from the kickoff to the Calder Cup Playoffs, and teams are finding themselves on opposite ends of streaks heading into the post-season.

While some clubs are scorching hot, others couldn't raise a temperature in a blast furnace, embarking on lengthy losing streaks.

On the positive end of the spectrum, the Rockford IceHogs are white hot, going 9-1 in their past 10 outings, currently riding a two game win streak and sitting comfortably in third in the Central Division.

Riding high right next to them and contending for a playoff berth of their own are the Manitoba Moose, themselves holding a 9-1 record in their past 10 games and on a personal four game win streak. The club previously struggled throughout the 2023-24 campaign, going stretches as low as 0-10-1-0.

The Ontario Reign of the Pacific Division round out hot streaking clubs with a 7-2-0-1 record in their past 10. They currently sit fourth in their division.

On the flip-side, it's been a year of insurmountable highs and woeful lows for the Milwaukee Admirals, who are currently owning a miserable 2-8-0-0 stretch in their past 10. The Ads owned a historic franchise record 19 game winning streak earlier in the year which now seems like a distant memory. Thankfully for their fanbase, the club built up enough equity to keep them at a comfortable first place in Central with 77 points.

Elsewhere, the San Jose Barracuda, tied for last in the AHL with Bridgeport and Iowa with 47 points apiece, continue their rough season, currently marred in a 1-6-1-2 stretch. The team has only won eight games on the road this season.

Finally the Calgary Wranglers, who are knee deep in the thick playoff race in the Pacific, have had an unsteady stretch, going 4-6-0-0 in their past 10. The club currently sits in sixth in the Pacific with 68 points, equal to Abbotsford and Bakersfield, with one point behind Ontario. They've picked a tough time of the season to alternate wins and losses.
