(Source: Sam Navarro-Imagn Images)AHL All-Star defenseman Tobias Bjornfort and Latvian Olympian forward Sandis Vilmanis have been reassigned by the Florida Panthers to their AHL affiliate team, the Charlotte Checkers.
Bjornfot was recalled to the Panthers on Jan. 4 and put up three points (2G, 1A) in 11 games. The 2019 Draft 22nd overall pick of the Kings has seven points (1G, 6A) in 22 contests this year with Charlotte and was selected for the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic.
Vilmanis had played in 19 games with Florida, recording five points (3G, 2A). In 31 games with the Checkers this season, Vilmanis has scored 19 points (8G, 11A).
He also skated in four games at the 2026 Winter Olympics for Latvia's men's national ice hockey team, going scoreless.
Meanwhile, forward Luke Kunin was recalled by the Panthers from Charlotte.
