2026 AHL All-Star defenseman Dmitri Simashev has been recalled by the Utah Mammoth from their AHL affiliate team, the Tucson Roadrunners.

The 2023 Draft sixth overall pick has played 24 games with the Mammoth this season, putting up one assist and 26 blocked shots.

With Tucson this season, the 21-year-old has recorded 28 points (8G, 20A) in 30 appearances.

The Mammoth currently have six defensemen on the roster, as Olli Maatta was dealt to the Calgary Flames in exchange for MacKenzie Weegar on Wednesday.

But because it will take time to process the trade, Simashev's recall was needed for depth.
