The Charlotte Checkers have signed forward Aidan McDonough to a one-year deal, the team announced Friday.
Having spent the 2023-24 season with the Abbotsford Canucks, McDonough joins the Checkers after not being qualified by Vancouver.
Drafted by the Canucks in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Draft, McDonough has one goal in six career NHL games. Prior to turning pro at the end of the 2022-23 season, McDonough played parts of four seasons with Northeastern (NCAA).
With McDonough heading to Charlotte, he will have the opportunity to play important minutes. With his first full season of pro hockey under his belt, the offensive output should only continue to improve.
