The Anaheim Ducks have assigned 12 players to the San Diego Gulls, the team announced Sunday.
With the re-assignments, the Ducks training camp roster is cut down to 43 players - 24 forwards, 13 defensemen and six goalies.
Those who were sent down to the Gulls include forwards Judd Caulfield, Ruslan Gazizov, Travis Howe, Josh Lopina, Nico Myatovic, Sasha Pastujov, Coulson Pitre and Jaxsen Wiebe along with defenders Dillon Heatherington, Tyson Hinds, Roland McKeown and Konnor Smith.
While the Gulls finished 28th in the league last season, they should be able to bounce back this year with many young players making the jump to the pro game.
