The Anaheim Ducks have recalled defenseman Tyson Hinds from the San Diego Gulls, it was announced Tuesday.
Hinds, a 2021 third round pick of the Ducks, is currently in his second season with the Gulls where he has scored two goals and added an assist for three points in 16 games. Having turned pro at the beginning of 2023-24, Hinds collected two goals and 10 points in 71 regular season games last year.
Before making the jump into the Ducks organization, Hinds played parts of four seasons in the QMJHL with the Shawinigan Cataractes, Rimouski Oceanic and the Sherbrooke Phoenix. Through 204 career regular season games, Hinds put up 31 goals and 116 points.
With the recall, Hinds will have the opportunity to make his NHL debut. A physical player who makes it hard for the opposition to find space in and around the net, Hinds has all the tools to be a solid contributor at the NHL level.
