The Bakersfield Condors have signed defenseman Mats Lindgren to a one-year deal, it was announced Monday.

Lindgren, who hails from North Vancouver, B.C., finished his first season of pro hockey in 2024-25, splitting time between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers. Although he went pointless in seven AHL games, Lindgren scored seven goals and added 14 assists for 21 points in 56 ECHL games. With the Nailers having made the playoffs, Lindgren went pointless in five games.

Prior to making the jump to the pro level, Lindgren played his junior hockey in the WHL with the Kamloops Blazers and the Red Deer Rebels. Over a total of 220 career regular-season games, Lindgren collected 24 goals and added 105 assists for 129 points.

With Lindgren heading to join the Condors, he will likely have the opportunity to appear in more AHL games in 2025-26. A talented offensive defender, Lindgren will likely continue to get better as time goes on.
