The Bakersfield Condors have signed forward Rhett Pitlick to an amateur try-out, it was announced Tuesday.

A product of Coral Springs, Fla., Pitlick just wrapped up his senior NCAA season with Minnesota State where he scored 13 goals and added 27 assists for 40 points in 39 games.

Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Pitlick was never signed by the team. Across four NCAA seasons with the Mavericks and the University of Minnesota, Pitlick collected 48 goals and 71 assists for 119 points in 148 career games.

Before making the jump to college hockey, Pitlick played his junior hockey in the USHL with the Omaha Lancers, Muskegon Lumberjacks and the Tri-City Storm.

A talented two-way player, Pitlick should be a player capable of making an immediate impact for the Condors. Pitlick could still be someone with NHL upside and he'll be one to watch for the remainder of the season.
