Ottawa Senators prospect and Belleville Senators defenceman Carter Yakemchuk has been named AHL Player of the Week (Mar. 9 to Mar. 15).

Yakemchuk assisted on six goals in two games last week, helping Belleville to a sweep of their weekend games at the Hershey Bears.

On Saturday evening, Yakemchuk recorded four assists – including three in an 11-minute span – to lift Belleville to a 6-3 victory over Hershey.

Then on Sunday, he added two more assists in a 5-2 in the away team's win over the Bears, earning selection as First Star of the game for the second night in a row.

With 35 points (9G, 26A) in 47 games, the 2024 Draft seventh overall pick is the second-highest scoring rookie defenseman in the AHL this season.
