The Belleville Senators have re-signed forwards Keean Washkurak and Philippe Daoust to one-year deals, it was announced earlier this week.
Washkurak, a 2019 fifth round pick of the St. Louis Blues, spent this past season with Belleville, scoring 10 goals and adding nine assists for 19 points in 71 regular season games. Since turning pro in 2020, Washkurak has appeared in 246 career AHL regular season games with the Senators, Utica Comets and the Springfield Thunderbirds, putting up 37 goals and 65 points.
A 2020 sixth round pick of the Ottawa Senators, Daoust also spent the entire 2024-25 season with Belleville, accumulating six goals and 16 assists for 22 points in 52 regular season games. Although he got into games with Belleville during the 2021-22 season, Daoust made the full-time jump to the pro level the following year. Over 80 career AHL regular season games, Daoust has collected eight goals and 28 assists for 36 points.
With both players heading back to join the team in the fall, the Senators get two solid depth pieces returning to their lineup. Both players played well in the roles and minutes they got, and it would not be surprising to see them both get elevated roles with the team this coming year.
