Gravel did not get into a game with the Senators

The Belleville Senators have released goaltender Alexis Gravel from his professional try-out, it was announced Monday.

Drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Gravel is in his first season of pro hockey. While he did not get into a game with Belleville, Gravel has made 17 appearances with the ECHL's Orlando Solar Bears, posting a record of 7-5-4 to go along with a 2.31 GAA and a .933 SP.

Prior to making the jump to the ECHL, Gravel spent parts of three seasons playing U Sports hockey with the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, accumulating a record of 38-11-1 along with a 1.97 GAA and eight shutouts.

With Gravel being returned to the ECHL, he could find himself drawing interest from AHL teams in the future. He has made the transition to the pro game seamlessly and has been an important part of the puzzle for the Solar Bears.
