The Belleville Senators have signed forward Landen Hookey to a two-year deal, it was announced earlier this week.
Hailing from Sarnia, Ont., Hookey spent the 2024-25 season with the OHL's Owen Sound Attack, collecting 34 goals and 36 assists for 70 points in 68 regular season games. With the Attack having made the playoffs, Hookey contributed another three points in four games.
Drafted by the Soo Greyhounds in the ninth round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, Hookey played parts of four seasons in the OHL with the Attack and the Greyhounds, putting up 65 goals and 72 assists for 137 points in 243 career regular season games.
With Hookey signing with the Senators, he likely turned down NCAA offers to begin his pro career. Already standing at 6-foot-5, Hookey has the frame and skills needed to make an impact with Belleville and will be one to monitor as he gets his feet wet at the AHL level.
