The Buffalo Sabres have assigned forward Josh Dunne to the Rochester Americans, it was announced Friday.

In his first season with the Sabres organization, Dunne has seen two games for Buffalo this season but has not registered a point. Across 58 games with the Americans, Dunne has scored nine goals and added 17 assists for 26 points.

A product of O'Fallon, Mo., Dunne turned pro with the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2020-21 season and has since appeared in 16 career NHL games, having yet to get his first career point.

Before making the jump to the pro game, Dunne played parts of three NCAA seasons with Clarkson as well as his junior hockey with the Green Bay Gamblers.

Having not seen a game with the Blue Jackets last year, Dunne made his way to the Sabres as a free agent and has since shown his value as a depth piece for the organization. Signed through next season, Dunne could challenge for a spot on the team when training camp rolls around in September.
